Michigan Street Redevelopment

Environmental Due Diligence and Risk Management | Phase I Environmental Site Assessment | Phase II Environmental Site Assessment | Brownfield Assessment Grants

Miller z FTER 2

Under the City of Grand Rapids Brownfield Authority EPA Grant program, BLDI was retained to conduct Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) tasks in support of redevelopment for residential and commercial purposes of this blighted property. A Phase I ESA was prepared for multiple parcels which identified previous uses including various industrial operations and a gas station. A Phase II Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) was developed by BLDI and approved by EPA. The Phase II ESA resulted in identifying the property as a “facility”. To mitigate environmental liability for the new owner and operator, a Baseline Environmental Assessment (BEA) was prepared . A due care plan was also completed under the EPA Grant.
